Your safari begins with a warm welcome and pickup from JKIA or your Nairobi hotel around 7:00 AM. On your way north, we stop at the equator line for photos and a fun “change of hemispheres” demonstration — a moment you’ll always remember. You’ll then continue toward the Laikipia Plateau, arriving at camp in time for check-in and a hot lunch.
In the afternoon, you’ll explore the world-famous Ol Pejeta Conservancy on your first game drive. Visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary and learn about the rescue work happening here. Later, search for elephants, lions, buffalo, cheetahs, giraffes, and both black and white rhinos — including the last two remaining northern white rhinos on Earth. Return to camp for dinner and a peaceful night surrounded by Laikipia’s wild sounds.

After breakfast, you’ll check out and drive north toward Samburu, enjoying beautiful views of Mount Kenya along the way. As you approach Kenya’s northern frontier, the landscape shifts into open, ochre-colored terrain dotted with acacia trees and rock outcrops — the gateway to Samburu.
Arriving around midday, you’ll settle into your camp for lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Here, you’ll encounter the famous Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and the long-necked gerenuk. Elephants frequent the Ewaso Nyiro River, and with luck, you may spot lions, leopards, or cheetahs during your drive. Enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening back at camp.

Start your morning with an early game drive, the best time to spot predators before the heat pushes them into shade. Return to camp for breakfast, then prepare for an excursion to the neighboring Buffalo Springs National Reserve — a stunning oasis fed by natural crystal-clear springs.
Depending on conditions, you may enjoy a refreshing dip in designated safe areas, followed by a picnic lunch near the springs with sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness. Later, you can choose to enrich your journey with an optional visit to a Samburu village, learning about their semi-nomadic traditions, beaded artistry, and deep connection to their cattle and land.
In the evening, return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay under Samburu’s star-filled skies.
